By the end of this worksheet, you will be able to:

• Round decimals to the nearest tenths.

Key Points:

• Consider your place value when rounding decimals to the nearest tenths (One digit to the right of the decimal point).
• Look at the next place value to the right (the hundredths).
• If the hundredths digit is 4 or less, replace the hundredth digit and all other digits to the right of it with 0.
• If the hundredths digit is 5 or more, add 1 to the digit in the tenths place then replace the hundredth digit and all the other digits to the right of it with 0.
• Write the equivalent number in its simplest form. This means that the answer will not have any other digits beyond the tenth position.
