School Nutrition Unit

The School Nutrition Unit is responsible for identifying, monitoring and evaluating the nutritional needs of students. It also coordinates the preparation and distribution of meals to students in early childhood, primary and secondary institutions.

In the early seventies, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago embarked on an initiative to create a large scale School Feeding Programme which provided meals to all students. Today, the Division of Education, Research and Technology, Tobago House of Assembly, continues to satisfy the nutritional needs of students through the operations of its School Nutrition Unit.
