Rounding to Whole Numbers

By the end of this worksheet, you will be able to:

• Round decimals to the nearest whole number.

Key Points:

• Consider your place value when rounding decimals to the whole number (One digit to the right of the decimal point).
• Look at the next place value to the right of the ones digit (the tenth).
• If the tenth digit is 4 or less, replace the tenth digit and all other digits to the right of it with 0.
• If the tenth digit is 5 or more, add 1 to the digit in the ones position then replace the tenth digit and all the other digits to the right of it with 0.
