HAPPY WORLD STEELPAN DAY
Born in Trinidad and Tobago from repurposed oil drums, the steelpan is the only acoustic instrument invented in the 20th century with its heartbeat tracing back to the African deum, its proud ancestor.
From street corners to world stages, its a symbol of our innovation, pride and spirit.
This video, commemorating World Steelpan Day, features the talents of some of the staff of our Multicultural Unit along with some of our Pan in School Tutors:
Ebunoluwa Kennedy. Shaquille Broomes, Harrison Mc Millan, Delbert Henry, Roger Sardinha, Harrisford Mc Millian, Leeana James, Ryan John, Mickiel Gabriel and Peron Frank.
