Early Childhood Awareness Day, January 15, 2020 was held at the atrium of the Lowlands Mall, Lowlands, Tobago. The event was hosted by the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Unit of the Division of Education, Innovation and Energy under the theme Optimizing the Early Years to highlight the significance of early stimulation for successful learning in all students.
The booths on exhibit included exciting and engaging topics which ranged from Mathematics, Science, Art and Craft, Tourism, and demonstrated the critical elements of the art and science of teaching at the earliest stage to prepare students for academic and social development. A short ceremony was held, during which speakers and practitioners guided the audience on advances in the sector in Tobago.
This is the first major public event in Early Childhood Care and Education since the Tobago House of Assembly assumed responsibility for government schools in 2016. The exhibition was well received by visitors and the Day was deemed a resounding success.
