Our goal is to remove barriers to learning and create inclusive spaces where individuals can thrive, regardless of age, background, or circumstance.

About the Programme
Delivered in safe, inclusive, and community-based environments, the programme aims to:
  • Strengthen academic foundations through CXC and Iiteracy courses
  • Promote skill-building for employment and entrepreneurship
  • Encourage personal and professional development
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning across Tobago
Classes are conducted by qualified facilitators and aligned with national development goals.
 
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to adults who are:
  • Seeking to complete or improve their academic qualifications (CXC, etc.)
  • Interested in developing life skills, technical abilities, or business knowledge
  • Motivated to learn in a supportive and community-focused setting
No prior academic qualifications are required.

Project I.M.P.A.C.T

The Division of Education, Research and Technology (DERTech) proudly presents I.M.P.A.C.T. (Inspiring Matriculation through Performance Assessment and Curriculum Transformation), a long-term performance enhancement project that is geared toward improving students’ competencies thereby unveiling their full potential.

This year there will be nine (9) centers (schools) of which eight (8) will focus on remedial education and 1 will focus on accelerated students.

Teachers are invited to complete the application forms. Principals are invited to recommend the following to attend the program:

1. Students from Standards 1 to 5 who have scored 50% or less in Math and English.
2. Students from Standards 1 to 5 who have an average score of 90% at Math and English.

The lists may be submitted to the Division of Education, Research and Technology through the line supervisor, and copied to the Technical Advisor, DERTech at ann.second@thadert.gov.tt. The names and contact information for parents should also be included on the list.

Sessions will run between Monday 15th July, 2024 to Friday 16th August, 2024 between the hours of 8:00am to 2:30pm on  Mondays – Thursdays. Face to face instruction will be conducted at 9 centres island wide with lunches to be provided at each session. Registration begins  on 12th June, 2024 and closes at June 30th, 2024.

I.M.P.A.C.T strategically focuses on improving the holistic (academic and co-curricular) development of all learners in the education sector through quality and equitable teaching and learning strategies that will unveil learning potential and provide varied learning experiences.

Parents are advised that their child/children can be enrolled by submitting an online application, downloading the form and submitting online or by collecting and dropping off at the Curriculum, Planning and Development Unit (Second floor DERTech).
